About the position of engineering Team lead Back End Developer

The
engineering managersbiggest responsibility is to support and mentor their engineers. This means providing guidance and working closely with the engineersin their day to day as well as their long term goals. As an engineering manager it is also your responsibility (together with the management team) to create the best environment where we enable our engineers to grow, feel happy, be challenged, and operate autonomously. 

We have multiple teams that work on specific parts of the customer user journey.
Generally, these are made up of front-endengineers, back-endengineers, a Product Owner, UX Designer and Agile Coach. You would be responsible for leading the back-endengineersacross these squads.

We are looking for someone who is

  • A team player and facilitator.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Passionate about working with people and helping them grow.
  • Has a vision about how to create highly effective teams and organizations.
  • Proactive, pragmatic and results driven.
  • Strong in coaching people and teams in: technology (code and architecture), soft skills, delivery process.
  • Fluent in English.

Your experience

  • 7+ years of experience in development using Java/Kotlin.
  • Previous experience (3+ years) as an engineering manager
  • Preferably knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud, Jenkins, Kafka, Cloudflare and headless CMS.
  • Experience with continuous deployment and best practices.
  • Experience in developing for high traffic sites.
  • Experience architecting complex solutions.
