De Bijenkorf E-Commerce is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Frontend Technical Lead to join our dynamic cross-functional teams and drive the continued growth and development of our digital platform. Key responsibilities:

The tech lead is a technical visionary for their domain and department and will translate, together with the other tech leads, long-term vision into implementable strategy and deliver it through coordination, inspiration, and technical leadership. 

You make sure your domain is aligned with the department direction, drive the consensus to adopt this direction, and you use this direction to guide Engineers. 

You take ownership of complex projects and collaborate with your colleagues to ensure that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

You play a key role in developing multi-year technology strategy and architecture for complete and critical areas of the business that encompass multiple systems and teams. Coordinate work between teams and take the lead in directing and implementing solutions for complex multi-year, multi-team initiatives. You brings clarity where there is none. 

You set the standard for high quality code that captures the essential nature of the solution and is appropriately flexible, reusable, efficient, and adaptable to changing requirements. You ensure high code quality that is reliable, secure, accessible, and performant through the whole department 

You are the go-to person for technical advice and are a hands-on mentor and role model for other engineers in their domain (up to 12 engineers).

  • React
  • Next.js
  • Micro Frontend Architecture
  • REST/GraphQL
  • Integration Testing with Cypress
  • E2E using Nightwatch.js & Playwright
  • Documenting components with Storybook
  • Java/Kotlin microservices serving GraphQL endpoints

Qualifications:

  • Strong expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Strong experience with React
  • Experience with Next.js is a plus
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform or other public cloud services such as AWS/Azure
  • Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience with modern software development methodologies such as Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • A deep understanding of Agile & Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with high-scale, customer-facing applications
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Experience in e-commerce platforms is a plus
  • An interest in retail and/or fashion is a plus
