About the position of Security Engineer

As a security engineer you can identify and implement (cyber) security solutions to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems & applications in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) products.

We’re looking for an engineer who can create advanced Cybersecurity solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) that will stand up to even the most advanced Cyber threats.

Your technical expertise will be vital as you help our engineering team overcome their most difficult challenges by integrating security best practices like SecDevOps, redundancy, Identity and Access management, encryption, and security analytics/monitoring.

Working closely with the security officer you will be a part of the SRE team. You will work in autonomous squads and have the unique chance to continuously improve security of de Bijenkorf's technology stack. We encourage you to introduce new technologies & tools that will enrich our stack, and have a first hand in building one of the fastest growing online retail platforms.

Desired skills and experience

• Relevant experience with engineering and administering production IT systems or networks for commercial enterprises
• Experience with leading tasks and sub-tasks to design, build, and integrate IT solutions and network and system security tools in the (Google) Cloud,
• Experience with Security Information & Event Management (SIEM), network firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS) and intrusion prevention systems (IPS), anti-malware, vulnerability scanning, encryption & monitoring
• Knowledge of how to apply both native Cloud security and monitoring services in GCP, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), VPC Service Controls, Firewall, Cloud KMS, Cloud Armor, Cloud IAM, Cloud Audit Logs, Cloud Security Command Center, and Cloud Security Scanner and Cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, boundary defense, auditing, authentication, and risk management
• Ability to automate the provisioning and configuration of IT environments, including tools such as Cloud Deployment Manager, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or PowerShell tools
• Google Cloud Associate Level and Security+ Certifications
• Understanding of Agile & SCRUM methodologies
